Encounter Episode 14 Recap
Soo-Hyun is in despair after being told to break up with Jin-Hyeok by his mother. Soo-Hyun’s father calls Jin-Hyeok and meets him for dinner. He tells Jin-Hyeok that he is happy Jin-Hyeok is with Soo-Hyun, now he can move forward with his long-awaited project. Jin-Hyeok tells him that he will do his best to protect Soo-Hyun. Mi-Jin visits Dae-Chan and asks him if he knows what Jin-Hyeok’s mother wrote in her note, he doesn’t know. Soo-Hyun’s father meets Mr.Nam and Sun-Joo looks like he is going to tell them about his exit from the presidential race. Elsewhere, Min-Ji notices something is wrong with Soo-Hyun since she received the note from Jin-Hyeok’s mother. Soo-Hyun tells her that she thinks she doesn’t match with Jin-Hyeok’s family. She then starts crying telling Min-Ji that she doesn’t want to break-up with Jin-Hyeok.
Min-Ji tells Soo-Hyun that she has gone through worse than this and she should never let go of Jin-Hyeok because she won’t find someone like him again. Next day, Jin-Hyeok drives Soo-Hyun to an art gallery in the countryside. Back home Soo-Hyun is having a hard time deciding her decision in regards to Jin-Hyeok. Jin-Hyeok takes his mother out for a date and tells her that he really like Soo-Hyun. His mother asks him that they are from different worlds and it can be an issue in the future. He tells her that there are only two women he has ever loved. (His mother and Soo-Hyun). Elsewhere, Soo-Hyun meets Mrs Lee and shares her worries with her. She further tells her that she met with Jin-Hyeok’s mother and about her request. Soo-Hyun knows how hard it is to live in the public eye having gone through this herself. But she still doesn’t want to break-up with Jin-Hyeok. Mrs Lee doesn’t know what to say.

Next day, news of Soo-Hyun’s father merging his party with the other and his exit from the presidential election is released. Woo-Seok’s mother gets furious with the news, Soo-Hyun’s mother is not happy with her husband as well. Soo-Hyun meets her father, he thanks for giving him the courage to do what he did. Although he is worried that Woo-Seok’s mother will come harder on her. Jin-Myung gets into a fight on his class reunion when one of his classmates starts badmouthing his brother and Soo-Hyun. He gets taken to the police station, Jin-Hyeok finds out about him and goes to the station. Soo-Hyun is with him as well but she couldn’t muster up the courage to go in. Jin-Hyeok’s mother’s words come to her mind, she is in tears worrying about the future.
Jin-Myung apologizes to Jin-Hyeok about his behaviour. Jin-Hyeok consoles him and tells him that he was not in the wrong. But still, he should make with his friend later. Jin-Hyeok calls Soo-Hyun and tells her that it was just a little incident between two men and she shouldn’t worry too much about it. Jin-Hyeok starts to feel a little uneasy for some reason. Next day, Woo-Seok’s fake ex-girlfriend meets with Soo-Hyun. She presents a painting to Soo-Hyun and apologizes, she tells her that the relationship between her and Woo-Seok was all fake. Soo-Hyun then meets with Woo-Seok and tells him about meeting his fake girlfriend, he tells her that he thought this was the best he could do for her (Soo-Hyun). She tells him that she knows he cared about her but now he should stop worrying about her. Jin-Hyeok and Soo-Hyun both go on a public date, both have different things going through their minds.
Get your tissue papers ready for next week guys. No matter how it ends the waterworks are guaranteed. It just the matter of if they are going to be tears of happiness or sadness. The things Jin-Hyeok’s mother was worried about are all coming true. She is doing what she thinks is best for all her family even though she knows she is hurting her son. Soo-Hyun, on the other hand, knowing her own past troubles doesn’t want Jin-Hyeok to go through them as well. It is a double-edged sword and Jin-Hyeok is going to get cut no matter the outcome. It is hard to predict how this is going to finish, It is going to be a very long wait.
