Encounter Episode 6 Recap
Start of Sseom
Jin-Hyeok asks Soo-Hyun to be into a “Sseom” relationship, she agrees to it and now they are in a Sseom relationship. To celebrate their relationship they go on a bike ride. Both of them have a big smile on their faces (finally). Elsewhere, Woo-Seok meets Mr. Choi, he asks him about the incident in the hotel lobby. Mr. Choi starts talking negatively about Soo-Hyun, Woo-Seok gets passive aggressive with him. Woo-Seok tells him it is not right to kick Soo-Hyun out of the CEO position as she is the one who made the hotel a success. He further tells Mr. Choi that neither Woo-Seok nor Mr. Choi deserves the position of CEO of the hotel.
Next day, Soo-Hyun goes to work wearing the lipstick Jin-Hyeok gifted to her on her birthday. During a team meeting, one of Jin-Hyeok’s colleague (he is the one who wrote negatively about Soo-Hyun on message board) suggest he takes lead in a project and is assigned to deal with celebrities. Later, Jin-Hyeok asks Soo-Hyun to go the “special tea place”. Elsewhere, Dae-Chan and Mi-Jin get matched on a dating app, Jin-Myung starts messaging her pretending to be Dae-Chan (all of them don’t know about each other’s real identity). Soo-Hyun’s mom enters her office and tells her she will be removed from her position soon. So, Soo-Hyun should stay quiet later and there should be no gossip about her with a “young guy”.
Mr.Choi comes up with a new scheme to shame Soo-Hyun during hotel opening ceremony and remove her from the CEO position. Soo-Hyun on her business trip buys a tie for Jin-Hyeok and coincidentally meets Woo-Seok in the shop (I’m 99% sure he is not stalking her). He is happy to see her, she doesn’t share the same mindset. Soo-Hyun goes to meet Jin-Hyeok at the special tea place (after some advice from Mr.Nam). She is late so instead of tea, they go for a walk. During the walk, she links her arms with him and then they hold hands increasing his heart rate to near maximum. She also gifts him the necktie she bought earlier. Later, Jin-Hyeok is having a hard time inviting the celebrities (they are avoiding anything to do with the hotel because of Soo-Hyun’s scandal), Woo-Seok arrives at their office and offers his help. He specifically tells Jin-Hyeok that the issue will be taken care of and he also sees the necktie Soo-Hyun bought on him. Only after he leaves, Jin-Hyeok realizes that he is Soo-Hyun’s ex-husband.

Soo-Hyun goes to her father, he is worried about her because of the scandal. He also feels bad about what his daughter has to deal with because of his career. Elsewhere, Hye-In is worried about Jin-Hyeok because of Woo-Seok and his mother, he tells her it is alright. Jin-Hyeok meets Soo-Hyun before the opening ceremony of the hotel. She helps him with his necktie, while Jin-Hyeok sees them together. Soo-Hyun’s father and Woo-Seok’s mother has a little argument about his career direction. She further threatens him with his daughter, he tells her Soo-Hyun can take care of herself pretty well. He then leaves her in her, she is fuming with anger.
Shouting To The World
Later, Woo-Seok’s mother confronts Jin-Hyeok and starts to belittle him. He tries his best to not be rude to her. Soo-Hyun sees the situation and wants to help but Mi-Jin stops him. Woo-Seok arrives and stops his mother. Jin-Hyeok gets sad more because he realizes how Soo-Hyun lived so far. During the press conference of the new hotel, one of the reporters asks Soo-Hyun about her recent dating scandal (looks like Mr.Choi’s doing). He wants to know the identity of the person involved and what is her relationship with him. He further agitates her by calling the “other person” a stalker. Soo-Hyun says that they are in a Sseom relationship.
Wow, she is going all out, isn’t she (Soo-Hyun)? Woo-Seok’s mother is making things easier for Jin-Hyeok. All her antics are making Soo-Hyun’s mentally stronger and she is pushing Soo-Hyun more towards Jin-Hyeok. I am also really liking Seung-Jo, he is kind of playing a similar character to what he played in Money Flower, which I really loved. Although saying that I wish he moves his love interest towards someone else. Also, I think he and Jin-Hyeok could be good “friends”. This episode was all about the love triangle. It was also good to see some skinship between Soo-Hyun and Jin-Hyeok. Now, coming to the negative (if you can call it that), I really missed the interaction between Mi-Jin and Dae-Chan. I hope to see more of their love line as well.
P.S. – For people who want to know what Sseom is.
