The first star of today’s episode is Byung-jae or 10-second man. His first fan meeting’s tickets were sold out only in 10 seconds. The theme of his fan meeting is silence, he will interact with his fans only with live chat. Quite an interesting concept and I think it only worked because it was Byung-jae.
The video starts with zoned out Byung-jae looking out of the car window. He is not sitting with Gyu-seon but with his new female manager (Soo-min). While Gyu-seon is busy with last-minute adjustments before the fan meeting. Byung-jae reaches and gets ready for the fan meeting. Byung-jae gets anxious as the concert-hall starts to fill.
Rules of fan meeting are that, if sound level reaches certain decibel level, a siren will go off and Byung-jae will get punished. He will be hit with a bamboo clapper by a Monk (hired actor). He finally runs on the stage and is welcomed with a pin drop silence.
The silent meeting will start with a silent date with a person chosen through a draw. Gyu-seon enters with a box but fans start murmuring and the siren goes off. Annoyed Byung-jae gets punished, Byung-jae’s date turns out to be a male fan. Which bring laughter to the fans and punishment for Byung-jae.
The date starts with a silent meal, they are not allowed to make any sound while eating. Fan tried his best but fails and Byun-jae gets punished repeatedly. While this is going on a shadow is lurking in the background. It turns out none other than Soo-dragon (Soo-yong), who is known for his silence even when on TV.
Fan meeting gets 5 minutes of intermission where they are allowed to make a sound. After the break Soo-yong joins Byun-jae, Soo-dragons entrance brings laughter from the fans. Soo-dragon has a tough time seeing and typing on his phone and he is taking longer than expected to respond in the chat.
His delay brings the atmosphere down and decides to leave just after few minutes (pre-planned) of entering. His entrance and exit brings more laughter than when he was on the stage. Byung-jae performs Bang Bang Bang by Big Bang without any music. He ends the meeting with an emotional letter thanking his fans, family and staff members.
Now, its Hyung-tak’s turn, video starts from where it ended in the previous week. Hyung-tak with many bags full of toys and candies reaches riverbed and has some healing time. After a short phone call with his manager, he drives back to his home. His manager is already at his house who opens the door for Hyun-tak whose banging his head on the door.
His hands are full of bags and his doorbell doesn’t work hence the head banging. It’s evening time but frugal Hyung-tak doesn’t switch on the lights. It becomes hard to distinguish between him and his manager, so cameraman switches infrared mode on. Hyung-tak shows his new toy collection to his manager and gifts him a toy watch. Their conversations continue but both of them are talking about different things at the same time.
Cast members get intrigued by his frugality and gets surprised by his other stories about his cheapness. His answers to member’s questions are hilarious and his stories never add up.
The last video of this episode is of Sung-kwang, at the baseball ground continuing from last week. His nervousness from earlier is all gone and he performs his MC duty very well. Although during the video montage he ends up crying, instead of the retiring player Cho Dong Hwa. They decide to go to Wolmido (famous for theme park) on their way back, which gets Song-manager excited.
After enjoying some snacks, they ride Disco Pang Pang. Lacking strength Sung-kwang gets tossed from one side to another. Until, he is helped by a middle-aged woman, who picks him like a sack of rags. Sung-kwang looks haggard as he walks out. Episode ends with acrostic poem by Byung-jae and Hyung-tak.
Hyung-tak was hilarious throughout the episode, he is really funny (unintentionally). You guys should watch his appearance in other variety shows if you could find. Soo-dragon’s brief appearance alone made my day.
