Yang Se-Hyung did find the money last week but wasn’t able to keep it because he was found out by the other members. The village members are back for a new hunt. Let’s check out if they are able to hold the money this time or will they go empty-handed again.
Village Survival The Eight Episode 3 Recap
Yoo Jae-Seok is awkwardly waiting for the members to arrive. First to arrive are the trio of Se-Hyung, Do-Yeon, and Dam-Bi. Their chemistry in the last two episodes made the show really funny. I’m again looking forward to their shenanigans. The trio doesn’t disappoint us and start teasing Jae-Seok on his fashion sense. Jae-Seok gets back at Se-Hyung calling him a fool who lost money that was right in front of him. The other members also arrive one by one. Last to arrive is Sang-Ho who looks like a local resident rather than a celebrity. All the members congratulate Jae-Seok on the birth of his daughter and also for receiving the presidential commendation.
Jennie talks about going to the “escape room” with her BlackPink members to prepare herself for the shoot. She also feels sorry about Dam-Bi, for calling her KKondae in the last episode. The members’ suspects if she is really sorry because she is smiling throughout her apology. Jae-Seok gives them information that money from last week has been hidden again. They are also shown the new items which will help them in finding the money. The members who correctly voted for Se-Hyung gets to choose two items while others only one item per person. They play RCP to decide the order to pick the items. They make their choices and arrive at the house. Seolgi the star of the last show has grown quite a lot.
As soon as they arrive at the house Jae-Seok tells them to prepare lunch. Sang-Ho who lied about his cooking skills last time is ready for the challenge again. Jennie and Se-Hyung are assigned to go to the vegetable garden, Song-Kang and Do-Yeon go to the sweet potato field and others are assigned to do home stuff and start a fire. Dam-Bi is not so excited about starting the fire as she struggled with it last time. Before leaving Jennie takes a group photo of members using her “item” Polaroid camera. Song-Kang and Do-Yeon look suspiciously at everything while going towards the sweet potato field. They think they can find a clue just like red stones from last week.
Jennie and Se-Hyung are also suspicious about the things while on their way to pick the vegetables. They find a broken cart and a notice written on it. Both of them find how to look the clue using the cart but they need the item “water sprayer” for it. They decide to work together this time and form a team. Meanwhile, at home Jae-Seok doesn’t show much confidence towards Sang-Ho’s cooking skills. Sang-Ho gets ready to cook but other members are feeling uneasy. He is going to prepare chicken and he has brought a special machine with him which will help him cook it.
Elsewhere, Jennie is working well with Se-Hyung and is adapting well to his skits. Although she has no experience of working in fields, she is excited about picking the vegetables. Se-Hyung takes benefit of her excitement and makes her do all the work while he orders her around from the side. Jennie gets tired of Se-Hyung’s constant chatting but is unable to say anything to him. They take each other’s photos using Jennie’s Polaroid camera. She is able to see a hint on the third photo while Se-Hyung is not looking and she hides it. The hint is the words Dad, Mom, and Succes and a circle on word Mom.
At home, Ki-Young is nearly invisible so to make him stand out Sang-Ho and Jae-Seok keeps calling him and keep giving him chores to do. Soo-Hyang who chose water sprayer and earphones finds an mp3 player at home while preparing food. She listens to it and the only song on the mp3 player is Glass Bead by Gfriend. All the members are back home busy preparing lunch which is taking longer than it should, again. Se-Hyung prepares radish salad which he learned from Mr.Baek the Homemade Food Master but it is a failure because of its bad taste (Mr.Baek is not to blame). He gives another try to another dish but this one is a failure as well (surprisingly Jennie likes it).
Just Not Her
Sang-Ho’s chicken is finally finished cooking and everyone loves the smell. They love the taste of it even more as everyone enjoys lunch. Se-Hyung wants more attention to his dish but nobody cares. The trio is eating together and they have taken Jennie as well in their group. Although everybody is eating their minds are on only one thing the money. After the lunch members get ready for the games. Jae-Seok informs them that some of them have already found the hints. The first game they will be playing is Household Volleyball same as the first episode. Dam-Bi really wants to avoid Do-Yeon.
To split teams they will be playing sit down and get up game. Jae-Seok starts with his weird questions. Ki-Young is the only one to sit (yes) when Jae-Seok asks everyone if there is someone close to your ideal types among the members. He is surprised and embarrassed about the situation especially because he has already got a girlfriend. Anyways he reveals that the one close to his ideal type is the Giant Do-Yeon. He also apologizes to his girlfriend and confesses his love for her through the camera. For the next question, Song-Kang becomes conscious of others and starts to lie but then confesses that he is lying when asked about it. His abnormal behavior makes everybody think that he is a weird one.
Attack of The Titan
Jae-Seok’s next question is, “Do you read more than three books a month?”. Unsurprisingly nobody says yes and the situation becomes awkward for some reason. He lowers the number of books from 3 to 2 but the outcome is still the same. They keep asking him to lower the number and he does just that. He lowers the number of books to 1 but still, nobody says yes and he gets annoyed when Se-Hyung asks him to lower the number again. For the next question Jennie, Do-Yeon, Se-Hyung, and Soo-Hyang says yes. As their team got only one male Jae-Seok asks to adjust the gender ration. Jennie without consulting her teammates announces that her team will give Do-Yeon away. Which surprises not only Do-Yeon but her teammates as well.
Dam-Bi, on the other hand, doesn’t want Do-Yeon in her team as well and tells Jennie to keep her. In the end, Dam-Bi takes pity on her and takes her in her team in exchange Song-Kang goes to the other team. First competitors are Jennie and Soo-Hyang VS Do-Yeon and Dam-Bi. Things don’t start well for Do-Yeon as she is unable to return the service and Dam-Bi’s anger starts to rise. Dam-Bi is no better than Do-Yeon and frivolous Se-Hyung keeps annoying her from sides which just makes her angrier. Do-Yeon proves that she is not good at sports as her team loses overwhelmingly. Do-Yeon hides from Dam-Bi who is controlling herself from yelling at her.
We Are The Champions
Next participant is male members from both teams. Sang-Ho is really aggressive with his play and makes a loud noise with her basin every time he hits the ball with it. On the sidelines underling Do-Yeon is following her boss Dam-Bi perfectly. Whenever Dami-Gets up for cheering Do-Yeon follows her and same when Dam-Bi sits down. In the end, Se-Hyung team wins and Dam-Bi finds them annoying when they perform their victory ceremony. While everybody prepares for another game, Song-Kang finds another clue “a spider.” For the next game, both teams decide on their team names Dam-Bi’s team “Let’s Get It” and Se-Hyung’s team “Large Army.”
They will be playing a speed quiz this time, different questions have different time limits ranging from 3secs to 20secs. Just like last week Crazy Noona-Dongsaeng couple are the first competitors. They chose (Dam-Bi chose for both of them) the 20sec question while singing they have to keep the same note for 20 secs. Surprisingly Song-Kang beats the singer Dam-Bi. Next are Jennie and Sang-Ho, he shows his aggressive side again. He also feels bad that he is trying so hard to beat someone 26 years younger than him. Jennie beats him and answers correctly much to Dam-Bi’s disappointment. Do-Yeon answers the next question correctly and wins a point for her team.
No, You Are Not
Next participants are the crazies. Just like last week Dam-bi and Song-Kang don’t seem to remember the options again. Jae-Seok finds them funny and frustrating at the same time. Jae-Seok repeats the options for them but to no avail. Both of them keep mixing the words and says something totally different from the options they are given. Because they are taking so long to answer Se-Hyung wants to go home and check if he has left the gas on. Jae-Seok repeats the options again and this time Dam-Bi answeres correctly and ties the scores at 2:2. Next, aggressive ahjussi Sang-Ho loses to Jennie again because he keeps forgetting his team name which is used as a buzzer.
Last participants are Ki-Young and Se-Hyung. They are also really aggressive which makes Jae-Seok’s work harder. Because he has to ask the question, start the countdown and ring the bell but they don’t give him much time because of their aggressiveness. Jae-Seok loses his temper when Se-Hyung doesn’t listen to him and starts to answer again. Jae-Seok out of frustration tells him to leave immediately. Ki-Young answers correctly and hence his teammates get to chose an extra item. Jennie avoids everybody and runs to the broken cart and finds another hint “Mari”.
The trio of Dam-Bi, Se-Hyung, and Do-Yeon doesn’t disappoint us and they are in full force again. The chemistry between the three is simply great. Other members are performing well but they can’t compete with the above mention three. Jennie has improved especially after spending some time with Se-Hyung and learning to perform skits. Song-Kang was weird (in a funny way) as usual. Jennie looks pretty sure where the money is hidden after finding the last hint. So we will next week if she is right and gets away with the money.
